10.25.2018

The McHenry County Economic Development Corp. presented its 2018 Business Champion Awards on Tuesday night in Crystal Lake.

In its 11th year, MCEDC recognized outstanding companies who have had a positive effect on McHenry County’s economy and who are exceptional primary employers.

Five companies were recognized, and several more were finalists in this year’s awards.

The Business Champion Awards are given to companies with 24 or fewer employees, between 25 and 100 employees and between 100 and 300 employees. FLOCON, INC. of Woodstock, Ill. won the award in the 100 to 300 employee category.

FLOCON manufactures fluid dispensing systems, such as fine mist sprayers, lotion pumps and valve-actuated dispensing pens.

The company has called McHenry County home since 1998. In an effort to expand its capabilities for research and development, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and sales, the company recently moved to a 58-acre campus in Woodstock.

The majority of FLOCON’s equipment, tools and components are made in McHenry County, and the business’ move has helped streamline logistics, allow for better service to customers, allow for new business and improve collaboration on new programs in development.
